Power of Joy.

Recently Energizer Malaysia SdnBhd, and Jayadeep Hari & Jamil, advocates & solicitors had a CSR activity with Parents Without Partners Bhd in Jumpstreet, an indoor trampoline park, in Petaling Jaya

Some 9 single parents and 18 children age 6 to 12 in total together with PWP Social Coordinator Ms. Jaya B,   participated for this activity on a weekend. Although some of the parents had never heard about Jumpstreet, their children were already showing some excitement when briefed about the venue.
As soon as all participants arrived at the pick - up point at 9.30am, they boarded the bus and reached the destination safely. Mr. E, the mascot from Energizer greeted the parents and their children. All participants went to a reserved room for a light breakfast and short briefing about safety and precautions. Present was Mr. Ganesheraj Selvarajah, partner from Jayadeep Hari & Jamil advocate and solicitors to give out goodie bags to all the children. The contents were, a stationery set made of bamboo, energizer batteries in various sizes, pens, and a booklet.

A crew staff from Jumpstreet gave out a pair of socks to each child for them to wear while they are jumping on trampolines to avoid injuries from slipping. Everybody lined up to head to the Main Court for their first routine coached by a trainer from Jumpstreet. Here they had to do a warm up exercise. It didn’t seem difficult for these children, as they were taught in schools to do warm ups, however they never knew the tricks about jumping on a trampoline. They were given instructions carefully on how to do so and the adrenaline kicked in soon after. Power Switched On!

They went on to the next routine which was Dodge Ball, to play in groups. As rough as it may sound, the children were very careful, played fair and sure did have lots of fun! Soon after, the children and parents enjoyed lunch. They were served fried rice, mushroom spaghetti, fries, nuggets, etc. and of course, water and isotonic drinks! After getting re-energized, they went on to the next routine; High Performance, for about 45 mins or so, Olympic-spec trampolines with a Big Bag, a massive seven by ten meter airbag that provides soft landing and vertical running walls of different heights. After which they children moved on to Slam Dunk, to shoot some hoops and made some Michael Jordan moves.

Time flew and it was close to tea break, after a short rest and light tea with snacks, the children went to try flipping and diving, not in water though, but in a pit of foam cubes! At the Foam Pit, children had the experience to jump on trampolines, flip, and land safely into the soft bed of foam cubes. Soon after, it was time for the trainer to retire from his coaching, however the children were given an opportunity to play on their own at any station, and they were ecstatic when they were told they can do so! The entire event ended about 6pm and Mr. E, sent off the parents and children to board the bus. Everyone was tired, exhausted but happy and had so much fun jumping!
When asked, Siti, a working single mother of two very young children, how does she feel about this event, she expressed her joy “ saya rasa sungguh gembira, bila tengok anak saya seronok. Stres saya terus hilang tengok dia seronok (I feel very happy, to see my child having fun. My stress disappears seeing him having fun)”. Muniswary, a single mother who works in a school canteen as a server expressed “sangat gembira tengok anak gembira bermain  (I feel very happy to see my child, playing happily)”.

This is indeed the Power of Joy, by Energizer Malaysia together with Parents Without Partners for underprivileged single mothers and their fun loving children.
